Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University has partnered with safaricom to offer their students affordable bundles for E-learning.
The institution which has announced that they will be starting E-learning for all their student in September revealed that the move is aimed at making E-learning affordable to all their students.
While addressing the press in his office on Monday 3 August, varsity vice chancellor Professor Stephen Agong’ told the press that the bundles will be 10 GB at a cost of Ksh.500 valid for one month.
Agong’ who was flanked by deputy vice chancellor in charge of academics professor Joseph Bosire added that they already adequate infrastructure in place to support the program.
On his part professor Bosire said all the students and staffs have been trained on how to us E-learning.
‘’From September we are organizing to teach our students online and even to administer semester exams online, our students have been trained on how to use online platform and interact with the internet, our teaching staff have also been trained. Therefore in September we are going online to clear the remaining part of semester as we prepare for physical opening In January. “Said Bosire.
Bosire is confident the program will succeed since there is an existing E-learning platform dubbed E-JOUST was established long time ago to support distance.
He further hinted that the institution is already having a great infrastructure, E-learning platform dubbed ‘E-JOUST’ where student are able to register and login to access lectures and lectures notes.
