Deputy president William Ruto has been ranked the most popular presidential candidate.
According to the latest opinion poll carried out by Tuko.co.ke, Ruto was ranked top with a percentage of 66%.
The Social media opinion poll that was conducted on 27th June 2020, brought together a total of 2, 154 neitizens.
Coming in the second place was ODM party leader Raila Odinga with preference percentage of 14. 7 %.
Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana was ranked third with a percentage of 13.9% recording a slight difference between him and former prime minister Raila Odinga.
Governor Kivutha early this week took to his official Twitter account to declare his candidature for president come 2022.
I have listened to the voice of Wanjiku asking me to run for presidency in the coming election. I am available, ready and willing to be Wanjiku's President. Will go all the way to the Ballot Box with Wanjiku in 2022. We must ensure devolution works for our communities.— Kivutha Kibwana (@governorkibwana) June 26, 2020
Machakos governor Dr. Alfred Mutua came fourth with preference percentage of 4.7%.
Both Governor Mutua and Kibwana have been aplauded for exemplary work in their capacities as county chiefs with majority calling on them to vie for president in the coming elections.
The poll has however been termed mediocre by a section of neitizens who disputed it for lack of merits.
The neitizens wondered how tuko.co.ke went to place both Governor Mutua and Kibwana leaving potential candidates like Mudavadi and Kalonzo.
The critics also argued that the poll did not merit regional balance, having sidelined Central and Western factor.
